Amfora Hookah Bowls
Amfora is a small Czech workshop that has been making bowls for some time. Amfora originally started with stylish pipes which, like the bowls, are made from its characteristic white clay. In terms of designs and colours, too, Amfora bowls impress with a substantial yet delicate appearance. The wide rim and foot give the bowl a unique design. The Amfora logo can also be seen on the foot. The chamber of the phunnels is deliberately kept relatively shallow in order to counteract excessive consumption. Thanks to the wide rim, Amfora bowls can also be smoked with a lotus/HMD without any problem. Stretching foil, by contrast, is rather difficult because of the unusual shape. The models essentially differ in their division into the design line and the standard models. Since every bowl is individually made by hand, they are all unique pieces. Accordingly, bowls that look exactly like their predecessor are rare. In terms of construction, Amfora bowls differ from most others in the luxury segment in using porcelain as their material. This may put some people off at first, but the various models have outstanding heat storage properties and are extremely sturdily made. The glaze is also of sufficient thickness and does not crack easily. So anyone who fancies real gems should definitely go for these.
Design – it does not get more unusual than this. Amfora bowls come in a design never seen before that looks both splendid and elegant.
Compatibility – Amfora bowls are best smoked with an attachment/HMD. Stretching foil is rather difficult because of the smooth glaze and the width of the rim.
Heat distribution – thanks to the thick glaze and the fine clay, the bowl conducts heat very well into the deeper layers of the chamber too. This means the tobacco in the lower layers is also used up after the session.
Material – as with its pipes, Amfora uses a very fine white clay. This is very heat-resistant but conducts heat into the deeper parts of the chamber without any problem.
